主谓宾，主宾能被名词性的sth，替换，如动名词，不定式，从句等等
而且，不能出现前面或者中间，很长，一大推的在开头或者中间，就产生了it做形式主宾。

一、It用作形式主语当不定式（短语）、动名词（短语）或从句在某个句子中作主语时，为保持句子结构前后平衡，避免头重脚轻，因此常用it作形式主语置于句首，而将真正的主语放在句尾。

It was really surprising that she married a man like that
she married a man like that （主）was really surprising（宾）

It is a pity that you didn’t go to see the film yesterday
that you didn’t go to see the film yesterday is a pity

主语太长了，要放在后面，统统长的大的放后面去。只能头轻屁股重。
做主语的只能有，名词，代词。想其他形式的名词，不定式，动名词，从句，都要放到后面，用it做形式主语。似乎动名词不常用。最终都为了，让句子看着平衡。

二、当不定式（短语）、动名词（短语）或从句在某个句子中作宾语时，为保持句子结构平衡，避免句式结构的混乱，常用it作形式宾语，而将真正的宾语放在句尾。此时it仍只起先行引导作用，本身无词义。

当谓语动词为think，make，find，consider，feel，hear等，后接复合宾语[宾语+宾语补足语]时，常用“主语+谓语动词（think等）+it+宾语补足语+不定式结构/V-ing分词/that从句”。如：

We think it our duty to study and work hard for our great motherland.我们认为为祖国努力学习和工作是我们的职责。

We thought it no good telling him about that.
我们认为告诉他那件事是没有益处的。
We found it useless trying to persuade him to go with us.我们发现试图说服他和我们一起去是没用的。
We think it highly probable that he will come tomorrow.我们认为他明天来是非常可能的。

They found it pleasant that they worked with us Chinese.

其实就是复合宾语，在it和形容词间加be动词，是，这是难的，这是愉快的，

某些表示"喜、怒、哀、乐的动词，如 like，enjoy，love，hate，往往不能直接接宾语从句；

“动词+介词”所构成的固定词组如果跟宾语从句必须先跟it形式宾语，i须置于动词和介词之间，此类词组常见的有：leave it to（由…决定/判断），owe it to somebody（归功于/多亏），take it for granted（想当然/认为…是真的），have/bear/keep it in mind（i住）。如：

I will leave it to your own judgment whether you should do it.我将由你判断是否应做那件事。
We owed it to you that there was not a serious accident.我们多亏了你才没有出严重的事故。
We must have/bear/keep it in mind that nothing is too difficult if we put our heart into it.我们必须记住：世上无难事，只怕有心人。
Once people took it for granted that the earth was flat.以前人们想当然地认为地球是平的。

由于that从句一般不能直作做介词的宾语，所以介词后若接that引导的宾语从句，则须先接一个形式宾语i而后才接真正的宾语。
